The 2011 Kalama Spring Cup will be the inaugural Kalama Spring Cup and will take place from 3 April to 17 April 2011.
Participants[]
During the halftime show of DSN's broadcast of the 2010 Kalama Winter Cup final, Duwamish Soccer Federation (DSF) President Donald Park announced the tournament, the date of the group draw, and the twelve participating teams. The teams included co-hosts Duwamish and its under-20 squad, Atlantic Federation, Cincinatti, Escambia, Inuslo, Linktoria, Lisieux, New Chandler, Rorysville, South Chesapeake and Sylvadia. Duwamish U20 was later dropped in favor of Æscgeard on November 26, 2010.[1] Posillipo and Marx replaced Atlantic Federation and Sylvadia, respectively, on January 20, 2011.[2][3]
Group draw[]
The group draw was staged in Kalama, Duwamish, on 20 November 2010 at the Kalama Convention Center. The ceremony was presented by Duwamish Soccer Federation President Donald Park, assisted by an AIFF official. The pots were hollow green soccer balls made of timber from Douglar firs in Goodwin. The results were that Group A consisted of the co-hosts Duwamish, New Chandler, Linktoria and South Chesapeake. Group B had the other co-hosts Duwamish's under-20 squad,[1] Rorysville, Lisieux and Cincinatti. Escambia, Inuslo, Atlantic Federation and Sylvadia made up Group C.[2][3]
Seeding[]
The criteria for the seeding was released on 19 November 2010 and was based solely upon the October 2010 AIFF World Rankings. The highest ranked team (Escambia) joined Pot A with the co-hosts, Duwamish and its under-20 squad.[1] Pot B consisted of the next three highest ranked teams, New Chandler, Rorysville, and Insulo, and this method was also used in pots C (Lisieux, Linktoria, and Atlantic Federation) and D (Cincinatti, Sylvadia, and South Chesapeake).[2][3]

The basic draw procedure was to draw out the pots starting from Pot 1. One team from each pot would be placed, in order of being drawn, into one of three groups from A to C. After each team was allocated to a group, its position in the group was based on ranking. This determined the team's placement in the predetermined fixture schedule. The seeded teams were automatically placed in their group's Position 1.
